Zarabanda is a 12-piece charanga orchestra based in Seattle. They've been performing traditional and modern Cuban salsa, including son, cha-cha-cha, guaguanco and danzon, to Northwest audiences since 1994. In addition to originals, their repertoire draws from the music of Cachao, Buena Vista Social Club, Orquesta Aragon, Los Van Van, Benny More, Eliades Ochoa, Candido Fabre, Original de Manzanillo and many other great Cuban artists.

Dance Party!

Whether you come to watch or to dance, this is one event you don't want to miss!
The competition will be three separate levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) Again, we may have high as 15 couple competing. Each level of students will be featuring a different routine they've been learning and practicing for that series. Winners will be selected by a panel of guest judges and each student will receive $100 gift packages. In addition to the 3 winning couples, there wiil be a winner for "best dress couple" they offer a FREE photo shoot by Jim Hadley www.jimhadleystudio.com.

Prior to the competition, students will be having a prefunk dinner, meetup member are welcome to join us. but due to very limited seating, (prepay for our meetup members will be set up 2 weeks prior to the event) please check back with us for available spots. Prefunk venue will be at Shallots Asian Bistro (VIP) room which is the back room of our dance studo where our event is heild. $18 Buffet tax & tips are included, you would be buying your own drinks through out the evening, only $7 cover for dance event if you are having dinner with us, total is $25 plus papal fee.
Our Dance Competition is right next door "with open bar". Show will start at 9pm and run until approximately 10:15pm, there will be raffle drawings at end of competition for all guest, after which everyone is welcome salsa dance for the remainder of the night, with special guest DJ – TBA.
