About Mambo Cadillac:
Percussionist-extraordinaire-about-town Tor Dietrichson is bringing in his band Mambo Cadillac to turn up the burner in a spicy musical stew of mambo, son, guaracha and rumba guaguanco for the best in Afro/Cuban listening and dancing.
Formed in April 2005 to perform at The Musicquarium, Mambo Cadillac features some of Seattle's finest Latin jazz musicians including Carlos Cascante (lead vocals), Julio Jauregui (keyboard and vocals), Ricardo Guity (drumset and percussion), Dean Schmidt or Jeff Volkman (electric bass), Tor Dietrichson (conga, percussion and vocals) and frequent guests including Thomas Marriott, Doug Beavers, Erik Stanford and many others.

So where do you go to Salsa on a Friday for a Classy Club feeling? - Navya Lounge is where. Great soundsystem, intimate lighting and music you HAVE to dance to.
There are plenty of great dancers both male and female, and plenty of men. And if you come with us, there will be plenty of easy-going dancers to dance with of all abilities.
And if you aren't in the mood for dancing, there is comfortable seating all around the dance floor … This is a great place to take a date for a drink and be entertained watching the dancers.
When - 9:30 pm till 2 pm, Friday the 13th. (Main dancing crowd doesn't arrive until after 10 pm, but I will arrive early to secure a table.)
Where - Inside the Rainier plaza (1333 5th Avenue) entrance near Union and 4th Avenue.

CHARANGA DANZON: founded in 2008 by violinist and educator Irene Mitri, is Seattle's new Cuban music ensemble. This fluid ensemble of wonderful Seattle-based musicians finds its basis honoring the tradition of strings in Cuban music, with a repertoire including traditional charanga, son/danzon, cha-cha-cha, classical, and jazz. www.charangadanzon.com
Members of Charanga Danzon include: Irene Mitri (violin, ensemble director), Fred Hoadley (piano, tres), Francisco Medina Jr. (percussion), Michael Nicolella (guitar), Jim O'Halloran (flutes), Andy Schloss (percussion, radiodrum), Pedro Vargas (percussion), Ben Verdier (bass).

Pedrito Vargas y su Grupo Ashe brings the true sabor of timba to the pacific northwest. Formed in 2008, the group is made up of some of Seattle's most prominent latin and jazz musicians. The group's unique mix of Cuban rhythm, salsa beats and funk sensibility creates an infectious, high-energy atmosphere that is sure to lift everyone off their seats to move to the music.
